    Exellent phone.

The design could be better, specs are amazing.
I am considering it as well.
The only thing i don't really like is the whole galaxy look (other, more vanilla, roms are available).

    Great,

yeah i thought too that anything with dual-core and 1.2Ghz of Cpu can't be beaten , at least not now.

actually i'm still waiting for my phone , really can't wait !
and this is also gonna be my first smartphone so it will be a huge leap forward ...

    cheers

I too am aiming for the S II, but given my current phone situation I'd like to buy the device separate. That's an approx 500 Euro investment, but the deals you'd get from phone companies are too expensive for my situation (I hardly make calls, mostly for mobile internet access)...

Does anyone know whether root access is available or can be obtained for the S II?

I do have a galaxy S II. It's amazing. Don't have any experience with HTC or LG, but I am happy with the Galaxy. It's fast and relaiable.

I have Samsung Galaxy SII and I really like it. Fast and easy to use. Only thing I don't like is the volume button, I keep on hitting it when I take pictures.

    From WiKiPedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II
    "Connectivity
The Galaxy S II is one of the earliest Android devices to natively support near field communication (NFC).[38] This follows on from the Google Nexus S which was the first de-facto NFC smartphone device.[39] It has been reported that the UK version will be supplied without an NFC chip at the beginning of its production run,[40] with an NFC-equipped version released later in 2011.[41]"
