    Google Play Music always active

Ever since GPM updated itself last week it has remained present in memory, regardless of how many times I try and remove it. Over the weekend it refused to stop playing music and drained my battery rather quickly. It also seems to be one of those apps you can't uninstall.
Anyone any ideas on how to stop it?

If you don't plan to ever use it, can you find it in Application Manager, tap Uninstall Updates and then tap Disable. If you'd prefer to keep it installed, you can try Force Stopping it after every reboot.

You have to close it by using the back button, since just pressing the home button keeps it in memory. You can certainly force close it from settings, but it shouldn't be necessary. Just press the back button a couple of times and it will close. It will stay in memory like most apps, but it shouldn't use any extra battery power by doing that.

They're still sold, but not nearly as many as in the past. The market for those is steadily shrinking. Live & learn.
