    What tablet for Kids

My son wants a newer tablet for Christmas, what would you suggest for around $200. I have a Dell Venue 8 which if nice and fast so he likes to borrow it over his Kurio. I paid around $200 for it a year ago so thats how I'm approximating my budget. I don't want to buy one of the kid specific but the newer Dell Venue's seem to be slightly lessor specs than mine (1G or ram down from 2G). Any good suggestions for other models?

I didn't think to specify Android since this is an Android forum. Apple stuff will be way over budget anyway. Notice I mentioned I don't want kid specific. We have disable the kid interface on the current one.

But I would say the @OP of the thread didn't said that we can't mention Apple devices over here ! :P

I specified non kid specific in my original post because we have one of the kid specific ones now and the add on kiddie apps are just annoying. We ended up just disabling all the kid specific features and he wants a real tablet now.

Well, this means that Kid term is just swiped off the track and what you are going to require is a real tablet now ! Okay what's budget now did you have any changes to make over the budget i.e $200 or it's perfect.

well ~200. I paid $209 for mine because it was $199 for the 16G storage or $209 for 32G so it made sense to pay $10 more. Were looking at the current Dell offering of their venue line for $169 but they have dropped RAM down to 1G (I have 2) so that concerns me.

So, what you concern is the RAM you want 2Gb of RAM but you are getting 1Gb of RAM am I correct anyway I would say 1GB RAM is enough to handle the needs..
