How to get contacts onto my GS3 from csv file

I exported my GMail contacts as a csv file and copied them to my phone. How do I import/sync these contacts to my phone contacts?

Well, I think you are trying to import the .csv contacts to your device, you can do that my importing that .csv file over to your gmail account have a look over to the support page of google over here (https://support.google.com/mail/answer/14024?hl=en) once you put that file over to your gmail account it will be automatically sync over to your device. See if this helps you in sorting your problem out !

My contacts are already on my GMail account. The problem I'm having is getting them onto my phone. That's why I exported them as a .csv file to my phone.

What I don't know how to do is use this .csv file to add my contacts to my phone.

Well, if that's in gmail account then you don't need to do anything, head over to the Accounts and sync , tap over the Google account Remove the account and then again put the account back in place it will start showing up the contacts.

I removed my GMail account and then added it back. It said it was syncing but it didn't import any of my contacts. I guess I'll just have to add them one at a time.

Now, that's weird !! Did you turned the sync option on ??? If it's showing in the Google account then it should sync automatically ..... I think you need to log yourself in over to the contacts over gmail and see if the contacts your import to Google account is visible over their ???
