    Xoom Experiences

    Android 3.1
Zoom function not available in the operating system
2 finger zoom function applied inconsistently across apps and menus.
Settings accessibility menu has no provisioned to set high contrast function
Webbrowser appears to have no capability to change the colors for a white text on a dark background.
The editor cursor control is flaky. It is hard to set the cursor to a specific point in the text for editing.

Technically, these would be issues with Android in general; not just Honeycomb.

Battery life appears good enough for my purposes unplugged for about 11 hours and only down to 58%. No major use, just browsing forums and working Email.

    In general?

Its good to see people's experiences. =)

What about general feel and ease of use?

What's your overall impression of the Xoom as a tablet?

My take on Xoom Look and Feel is based on the fact that I am a VIG (Vision Impaired Guy)
As a Tablet, it seems to be the right size and weight for use on 16 hour days.
Volume switches are not easily accessible, which is probably intended to protect them from inadvertent actuation.
As a VIG, I used a 4x magnifying glass to work with my DroidX. I boutht the Xoom as soon as it hit the Market figuring 10 inches is better than 4 inches.
The 10 inch screen is great for Videos and for Books.
The TFZ (Two Finger Zoom) works well on Web Pages so I can surf without the Magnifyer.
The Keyboard is huge so I can confidently enter Passwords without eror
That said, here comes the rub.
The native Font Size for the Xoom seems to be smaller than the DroidX forcing me to use a 6x magnifyer to read system menus and Icons.
TFZ does not work in the Home screens and Menus.
TFZ only works in some Applications. Most third Party Apps and even some of the Google Apps do not respond to TFZ manipulation. (Could be something that I am not doing right)
Still looking for a way to set the default Font size and Set the Default Display to White or Cyan Text on a Dark Background.

To summarize, I am retiring my Laptop in favor of the Xoom because:
    1. It is small enough to just set beside me to clear my lap for a tray of Food
    2. It is large enough for Videos, Books, Mapping and Surfing
    3. The Speakers beat my DroidX and my Laptop
    4. It Multitasks so I can listen to music while I work on Email or Forums.

Um, Just as the little holder card said in the XOOM, the SD card slot is not activated yet, it will be with an update in the future.

Xoom Documentation says do not try to charge via USB connection
    Yet
The Xoom came complete with a USB Wall Charger along with the Bayonet Wall Charger.
Do I use the USB Wall Charger?

I found no Cigarette Ligher charger in the Kit as delivered.
Had to buy the Cigarette Lighter Bayonet Charger Seperately.

So the question remains. When and Where, if Ever, would I use the USB Wall charger that came with the Xoom??

I only got the wall wart with mine. I haven't seen the asus xformer yet but I'm overall pleased with my Xoom. I have all the same comments as above regarding TFZ and default font size. Screen size is perfect for videos. I bought the motorola bluetooth keyboard. It's a little small for me but serviceable; however I seldom use it because the on screen one is satisfactory. Battery life is a major plus. I've had mine playing mp3s for days on end. Wifi has worked flawlessly every place I've been.
