    Nexus 6P android version

    Hello Forum members,

Could anyone explain the difference between the following versions?

    6.0.1 (MMB29M)
    6.0.1 (MMB29P)
    6.0.1 (MMB29Q)
    6.0.1 (MMB29V)
    6.0.1 (MHC19I)
    6.0.1 (MHC19Q)

My phone is rooted and I keep getting a notice that there are updates available but doing any kind of update doesn't update the phone. I understand that because I'm rooted I have to update other ways but I am not sure which version to update to. I presently have MMB29M installed on this device but without know what the others are for or what they do I hesitant to upgrade manually.

Thank you for your time and replies.

Google releases monthly security updates on the Nexus line. MHC19Q is the latest "April update" as an example. You can manually sideload the updates incrementally while rooted, but do be sure to do a little research here or elsewhere (I'd suggest XDA) before doing so.

Sideloading is new to me. I will have to look into this as an option. I really don't want to have to reinstall everything ever time I upgrade.
    Thanks for your post.

To clarify, you can sideload all updates without losing any data (although I'd still recommend you back a proper backup).
