Uploading apps from PC to phone

Has anyone successfully uploaded an Android app from PC to phone (without using the phone's internet connection)?
If so, I'd be very grateful to know how you did it.
    Thanks

You should be able to do it over a USB connection. At least my 1st gen Droid mounts pretty much like any other USB device and I can transfer files to the SD card.

The adb tool, which is part of the SDK, has a push command that will "copy a file or directory (recursively) to the emulator or device". http://developer.android.com/guide/d...tools/adb.html for more information.
