I'm trying to mount a floppy drive in Redhat 5.2 and this is what happens:
[root@localhost /]# mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00, sector 0
mount: block device /dev/fd0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00, sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00, sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00, sector 0
FAT bread failed
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/fd0,
or too many mounted file systems
end_request: I/O error, dev 02:00, sector 0
[root@localhost /]#
I've tried many different floppy disks with the same results on all of them. fstab has this entry:
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy vfat noauto 0 0
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
