Greetings everyone.......

I decided to try Blackbox and was amazed at how responsive it is! Seems like a nice application, but for the life of me, I cannot find any way (or clear information) on how to do something as seemingly simple as change my background on the desktop! I figured out how to change 'sytles', but there doesnt seem to be any 'simple' way of changing the background.

Anyone else like Blackbox and have an idea?
Thanks.......

After 2 n a half yrs working with BB I changed to IceWM. When uve got the time, check it out, its as responsive as BB, the memory footprint is as small, it doesnt need to do modularizing as the new BB does (like for instance for shortkeys) and has more window managing features built-in.

Depending on BB version uve got
bsetroot for plain colours
Esetroot or bsetbg for pics
else xv -root will also work.
Driving bsetroot, Esetroot and bsetbg parameters is usually done tru styles, xv will work standalone.

Great, thanks for the tip.
I have been using KDE and Gnome for the most part, but they still have that Window$ feel to them. They are both nice, but I have numerous systems on display in my shop and I HATE it when I am trying to get someone into Linux and they see the desktop and say, "Gee, that is a lot like Window$".
