I was kind of impatient,..so I went a head and tried it anyway..It worked just fine..Now I have 3 different network intefaces running on the same box and they are behaving peacefully so far....

How are you using the second "public" route?
Is it a backup in case the first "public" fails?
Are you using OSFP to do load balancing?
because otherwise, there is only one default route, and that second internet route is just sitting there idle.

[edit.. make that OSPF =p ]

Well, The reason I have 2 nics in one box, 2 with public IP's and one with private, is to try to have two name servers running in one box and the private off course to connect to my private network. I didn't have to do any complicated configuring, just plugged them in and RedHat did the reset. I was just doing that temprory, but I think I will take out the 3rd nic and put it back in a seprate machine.

why not just use a sub interface on one of the nics that you already have in the system. You can asssign almost an infinate number of sub interfaces to an interface. The only advantage I can really see is to connect different subnets and enable routing.
