GRUB Bootloader

I recently installed mandrake 7.1 and GRUB is the default bootloader. Yesterday rather then the usual grub menu appearing I got the following message

Grub version 0.5.94
[Minimal Bash-like editing is supported. For the first word, TAb lists
possible comand completions.Anywhere else TAB lists possible completions of a device/filename.]
grub>_

Does any one know how to repair it?Thanks.

I assume it booted anyways? If not I hope you have a boot disk. Anyways, go into /boot/grub and you should find 2 files called menu.lst and install.sh .Check menu.lst to make shure its not been changed, then run install.sh to reload grub again. You may have to make it executable
and run it as root

i've fixed the problem, kind of.

basically since I had messed around with the boot settings, GRUB messed up. This is what I did to fix it.

Boot from a windows 98 boot disk. At the DOS prompt type:

C:\fdisk /mbr

This should overright any Boot loaders you have. My computer now loads straight into Windows and from there I just double click on a Linux shortcut. The computer then loads the linux operating system.
