"Could not save properties. You do not have sufficient access to write to /home/rons

I have dragged and dropped a link to my second CD drive onto my KDE desktop. I would like to change the icon, however, when I click on properties, then the present icon and choose a different icon from those shown in the pop-up image, I get the following message: "Could not save properties. You do not have sufficient access to write to /home/ronsan/Desktop/cdrom1/.directory".

What is the fix for this?

It appears that you don't have write permissions to a file and/or directory. In this case, it could be the directory cdrom1/ or the file .directory. Do ls -l /home/ronsan/Desktop/cdrom1 and ls -l /home/ronsan/Desktop/cdrom1/.directory and see if you have write permissions. If not, you'll have to use chmod to set the write permissions.

Like this:
chmod u+w /home/ronsan/Desktop/cdrom1 and/or chmod u+w /home/ronsan/Desktop/cdrom1/.directory .
