XF86Config file is empty

I was trying to copy my /etc/X11/XF86Config file prior to editing it. Something happened and the icon for this file has a big green question mark on it, and when I bring it into a text editor or emacs, the file is empty.

Same for the file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/XF86Config

How much trouble am I in and how do I get this file back? Are there any backups anywhere under a different name?

I'd have thought that just running something like
Code:
XF86Setup
would recreate the file for you. As for both the files being the same (empty) you'll probably find that one is a symbolic link to the other, so when you fix one the other will be fine too.

If running your config command doesn't work then post what version of X you're running, someone on the board with the same version can send you their file, then you can run your config tool on that.

cheers!

Jamie...
