Question High HP Engines

Greeting group,

My question is not of a truly 100% Linux nature, although everything I do involving the internet is 100% with Linux.
I would like to know how I can submit my friends website (Tracy's Cute as a Button) to well know search engines (i.e. Google) with out spending any cash. She makes Crochet sweaters for Children and would like her site at http://cuteasabutton.netfirms.com to be recognized by search engines when keywords like: sweaters, clothing, crochet, yarn, wool, etc. are submitted.
The reason I am posting to this forum is because I have tried everything I know to publisize her site to no avail, nothing ever comes up when I querry. Yet when I search "farmer greg", my alias with this forum, I get some of my previous posts in Google.
How does Linuxquestions make their pages visible to major seach engines and what is the cost?
Thanks,

Here's the deal.

If you don't want pay anything, you have to bug each search engine if your site is new by submitting your URL like all the time.

I have a domain I submitted to Yahoo, it took them 3 months before they listed it as a valid site. I submitted my URL at least 2 times a week.

Most search engines eventually will have your site listed cause they send out programs that read the keywords and meta info on pages within your HTML code. But as far as I have seen, most are like yahoo now and want theirs very well organized into groups.

For the fastest way, its usually coughing up some money to get it listed quickly.
