How is this done?
Can someone point me in the way?

Most distro's come with the telnet daemon already enabled, in which case you should just be able to run 'telnet hostname' from Windows and get a connection. You won't (hopefully) be able to connect as root by default so you'll need to use a different user then 'su' if you do want root. If for some reason this isn't working then check if you have any firewalling setup (ipchains/iptables) and look for something like 'in.telnetd' when you do a ps -ef to check that the daemon is running.

HTH

Jamie...

There's also a GREAT Windows client for ssh/telnet operations called PuTTY. It makes telnet look purty. http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

I've been using it for over a year now and it's been great.
