Question Hmmmmmm

Hello I am back. Ok I am now needing to get into safe mode on windows. Doesn't seem possible at moment. I boot up choose windows and it's too late to get into safe mode. I think I have to set up another login option like right now I have linux and linux safe windows and something else that I do not know what it is. Can anyone help me? I am very very (please insert extra very here) new to linux. Actually I have all totaled been trying to learn linux about 2 weeks. I had to take a long vacation (also called sick leave). I think the fever fried my last brain cell as I dont think I remember anything I learned in the 2 weeks; however, I do still remember how I finally found the command line--right after I finally figured out what it was! Help please Oh I have 2 hard drives but connected. Windows is on one and Linux is on other. Ps is it possible to get tv on linux? I have the all in wonder radeon video card. Geesh I have another question is this too long. I downloaded a java 1.3 for staroffice and it's rpm.bin or executable. I have tried to execute but keep getting host unknown error??? Thanks all Praying here!

After choosing Windows hit F8 as it begins to start, choose "safe mode" at this time.

Angry It's too late

Hi I know about the F8 but once I choose windows it's too late the very next thing that happens is the windows splash screen. I can push F8 right up until windows is on the desktop. I think I really have to go into where I can set more options on the boot up. Thanks

You have to do it quicker, keep a finger on the F8 key and when you hit the windows, basically hit F8 at this time

First of all windoze does not load up that fast (at least mine does not). But anyways, if you cannot do F8, when you restart your computer, hit F8 and dont stop until you here the *beep* and then you can leave a message (or go to safe mode). I think, but not sure you do the same thing using F10. Its just a little more advanced.

Why?

Well...sure if you want. I love getting to windows quickly: I love to be the first one to get to freeze-up or receive the blue screen. There is nothing that compares to knowing that you can format windows a couple minutes quicker than most others around! Have a great day!
