Motherboard problem

I recently got a Jetway J-656VXD motherboard from someone that had theirs upgraded and didn't want it anymore.

I went out and got 64M of SDRAM combined it with some other bits and pieces lying around and I now have another box I am going to setup as a linux server.

It will boot but my problem is that the motherboard only recognises 16M out of the 64.

I have tried updating the BIOS with MR BIOS, the web page I downloaded it from says the MB is supported but when I go to run it I get an error message saying that the program is for Intel Triton chipsets. The J-656 uses the Triton chipset.

I then tried to update the BIOS from J-Mark but it says something about the file not being the right one. It also says stuff about Winbond, I don't see any Winbond chips on the motherboard.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

I had a similiar problem with a SOYO board, I had 3 separate 32 meg sticks, booted up and the board would only state there was 16 megs, no matter what order or if i took one out, used one stick whatever... it would only recognize 16 megs. So I got mad, grabbed a single 128 meg stick, stuck it in and it recognized all 128 megs. Strange indeed. I would recommend looking over or contacting the motherboard company on that one, or if you ahve any other RAM to just test it with.

I found out what it was.

I was using PC133 RAM on a board that only took PC66.
