Cool setting up ssh

I have a linux box that I want to ssh into, I already have telnet and ftp access but I need to access it as root. When I try connecting to this box using the ssh client software it say connection refused. What do I need to set up on the server side?

you will need to install openssh. you can get the rpm at www.rpmfind.net or you can install from source/binary at www.openssh.org.
