Hi fellows,
My situation is this. I have a computer at home running on Windows 98 (& RH 7.0 - dual boot) and another one with Windows ME (I don't know how to network them together and also didn't take any effort to learn). I want to install RH 7.1 or Slackware 8.0 on my ( win 98 + RH 7.0 ) box to run a web site. I don't have a CD burner but I have a really fast internet connection...
I have a couple of questions....

1. Are the freely downloadable distributions, the same quality as the 'professional' version... I mean in terms of the important features, stability, etc....

2. How can I do this installation?? Can I download the installables into my hard drive and run them from windows? Or how else? I gathered that it is possible to do it over FTP.... Which is the easiest and better method of installation for my situation??

2) If you dont have a cd-burner you can install it from your A drive which i would not recomend because it takes too much time or you could download it everything to your hard drive and install it from there<~~thats a good idea.

1) I dont think there is any difference between the pro and the one you dl from the net. I've never bought the pro b4, i've been using the one i dl from redhat.com which works fine. Like i said, i dont know if they have any difference

You can definitely d/l to your hard drive and install from there (with RH, Debian, and Mandrake, at least), but just be sure to read ALL of the instructions, FAQs, etc. before you begin. Hard drive installs are not as straight-forward as installing from CD, and the d/l times can be long (even on with a fat pipe), so you wan't to get it right the first time.
