trouble with sound(I have none)


I am runnign MandrakeLinux 8.0 and can not seem to set up my sound card. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks

Me neither, I have an ESS soundcard and all the drivers i can find are for windows

only thing I see in the windows device manager is ess audio device. Most of my games in windows use the soundblaster setting.

Its probably worth taking the card out and reading the number off the chip. If its a PCI card then the output from lspci will probably give some major hints. The we'll be able to have a look in the kernel to see if its supported.
