hello
with partition magic, make a /boot part (ext2 - 64Mo), a swap part (depending on you RAM, I do 512 Mo w/192Mo RAM), a / (root)part (ext2 - 3-4Go), and eventually a /home part (ext2 - 200Mo).
reboot with bootable linux install CD, follow instructions. check parts with diskdruid (/, /boot, /home, swap ).
want to use win boot: use expert install mode
want to use grub: use stadard install mode
other method: only make a 4-5 Go part
boot with linux install CD
follow instructions, use diskdruid to make parts
if still freezes, maybe a bug on your install CD ( try another CD)
