Parallel CD Writer

Can anyone please help.
I have a HP 7200e CD RW drive that I want to use in Linux. I've managed to set up the paride part and the kernel recognises the drive.
However - when I run cdrecord -scanbus I get the following:

Cdrecord 1.9 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 Jörg Schilling
Using libscg version 'schily-0.1'
scsibus0:
cdrecord: Inappropriate ioctl for device. Cannot send SCSI cmd via ioctl

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Go here and enter into the search box HP 7200e . You might find some useful information.

Don't configure the cdrom as SCSI device 0 or 1 because they should be used for hard drives. I have my cdrom drives configured as 5 and 6.
