I cannot get my cable modem (connected via an ethernet card) connected in RH 7.0. went to the howto's and they did not have any info on my ISP. I also have a book that only discusses regular modems.

Also, what kind of NIC is it? Do you know if it is working properly? Well, the HowtTo's usually don't point out all the different ISP's, any type of DNS, IP or other info for your particular connection you will get from them. Like the ethernet Howto is going to tell you how to get your NIC up and working so you can configure the settings and go from there.
