My floppy drive now mounts with great ease...but as for my cdrom drive, i've tried what you guys have said, but i still get an error of
"mount: no medium found"
Distribution: Slackware 10, Fedora Core 3, Mac OS X

Rep:
check there is a link between /dev/cdrom and /dev/hdc (or whatever the cdrom is). go into the /dev/ directory and type ls -l and a long list will appear (in fact type ls -l | less
this will let you scroll through the text at will [that;s the pipe symbol, i have an english keyboard and don;t know whether american ones have that key in the same place or not] )
if that link is there then it might be a hard ware problem or possibly the cd cd screwed (i don;t know to be quite honest)
What command are you using to mount or if you can, show us all the steps you are doing when mounting? Does it give that error after the mount or does it give that error after you try to cd into the /mnt/cdrom or whatever?
