I am in the midst of installing all of the packages mentioned in the subject line. I can get my tomcat servlet engine to talk to MySQL but only to the test database, if I try to access a database I create I get an SQL exception. Another problem is that I get no error messages from the exceptions used in the mm version of JDBC for MySQL:

System.out.println("SQLException: " + E.getMessage());
System.out.println("SQLState: " + E.getSQLState());
System.out.println("VendorError: " + E.getErrorCode());

anyone gone any reason for me not be able to talk to other databases? I have tried granting every privilege, etc. With no joy.

anyone know why I dont get an error message from the exception handlers?

TIA
