DVD-ROM installation.

I already have Mandrake 7.2 installed, and I just added a DVD-ROM drive--However, it's loaded into /dev/hdd, because it's my secondary slave drive, and XINE (the only DVD player I can find that actually <i>installs</i>) looks for a DVD-ROM drive in /dev/dvd

I know Mandrake has support for DVD-ROM--it has the icons--but how the hell can I tell the OS the bugger is already there?

Did you try symlinking /dev/dvd -> /dev/hdd?

That gets XINE to detect my DVDs, now it just crashes within two seconds

Looks like I'm stuck with Windoze for DVDs.
