Hi i am
using redhat 6.2 kernel 2.2.14
i would like to upgrade to 2.2.19
i think its the latest for the 2.2.x

no i am not a linux export
and i never done this
first time.

i red some instructions
but i get some errors as soon as i tpe the command
to patch
it asks me what fils i want to patch
..

I think in your case it might be wiser to download the whole source, since patching over 5 releases is a bit of an arduous task for a newbie.

kernel patching

ok so i cant jump from 2.2.14 to 2.2.19 with a patch
i need the whole kernel source
and compile it
now how do i do that
will i lose any configurations of my current linux
