Hi all,
Can someone tell me a little bit about /proc/kcore? From what I understand it is program crash data. Is it's purpose only for troubleshooting? If so, once the error/application causing the error has been fixed can this be deleted? If so, how?
The reason I am asking is that I have a small hdd, and space being at a premium i would like to be able to delete entries into this file to reclaim the space.
Thanks,
Dallam

Got it sorted.Kcore is an "Alias", not even really there. It usually matches the size of your ram (which is why I was concerned to find a file that big).
