Unhappy

Recently installed Mandrake Linux 8.0.
Can't access floppy drive as normal user or as root.In Konquerer the floppy drive icon has a lock symbol on it(in /mnt/floppy). Tells me I don't have permission. But when I check properties, I do have rwx permissions for user, group and others as both root and as a normal user!

Floppy is mounted.

Also checked mtab and it has the following line:

/mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount rw, fs=vfat,dev=/dev/sda 0 0

Is that part /dev/sda ok?? Should sda not be fd0???

Question

Looks a little strange to me, /dev/sda is your first SCSI hard disk. What happens when you do the following from the command line
Code:
umount /mnt/floppy
or/then
Code:
mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy
??

That /dev/sda sure does look funny. /dev/fd0 is more like it. Even if /dev/fd0 is correct, you still may not be able to access the floppy as user.
If you change your line from:

/mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount rw, fs=vfat,dev=/dev/sda 0 0

To:

/mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount user,rw, fs=vfat,dev=/dev/fd0 0 0

It might work.
