What distro are you using? If its got PAM then this might be part of your problem (I've managed to void PAM so far so its just a guess)

cheers

Hi,
It seems that you have not added your ip address in the Linux server, so you are getting the timeout, as well as I hope you are getting the logging prompt also after a long delay--- right ?

go to the Linux server and login by root

run the "netconf" command

then you will get so many option like shown below :

ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ Network configurator ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿
³ This package allows you to configure a ³
³ TCP/IP network from scratch using ethernet ³
³ and modem (or other serial connection) ³
³ ³
³ ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ^ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³
³ ³ Exported file systems (NFS) ³ ³
³ ³ IP aliases for virtual hosts ³ ³
³ ³ Apache Web server ³ ³
³ ³ Domain Name Server (DNS) ³ ³
³ ³ Basic services ³ ³
³ ³ Samba file server ³ ³
³ ³ Ftp server (wu-ftpd) ³ ³
³ ³ Xterminals manager ³ ³
³ ³ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄMiscÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄij ³
³ ³ Information about other hosts ³ ³
³ ³ Information about other networks ³ ³
³ ³ Linuxconf network access ³ ³
³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ ³
³ ÚÄÄÄÄ¿ ÚÄÄÄÄ¿ ³
³ ³Quit³ ³Help³ ³
³ ÀÄÄÄÄÙ ÀÄÄÄÄÙ ³
ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ
select Information about other hosts and add your client m/c ip address from where you wanted to access Linux server from client.

It will solve you problem, if not then feel free to contact me any time.

thanks

Ravi Sharma
