Best place to install applications


OK, really urgent question...

What is the best place to install an application...
/bin or /lib or /whatchacallit or what?

wome help please... install process is running... It keeps asking me for the location and I do not know where to install it...


whaaa, going nuts (although )

well you can install it anywhere really, i think the most common is in /bin /usr/bin or in any particulars /home directory.
