I changed one option in the bios, saved and exited. All I got was a blinking cursor. Rebooting only produces the blinking cursor. Is there some way to get back into the bios to change that option.

Turn off!

Hi,

Turn off the VGA Pallette Snoop option in the Bios and should behave properly after that

There is no way to get back to the bios, else I would haved reversed the change, I made. After I hit the power button. All the comes up is a blinking cursor, nothing else.

you may have to open the case and remove the battery that retains the cmos memory, usually a round and flat battery near the bios chip. leave it out for a few minutes then re-insert and power on. that should wipe out any changes and reset it back to factory defaults.

Actually it has a black, box-like battery, but I can't get it out. Is there a safe way to get it out?

not sure. if its soldered in, check for a jumper thats labled cmos memory or something to that effect. usually three pins side by side and a black plastic jumper shorting two. move the jumper to the other position and wait a few minutes, then move it back and power up.

You might want to try holding the "insert"-key while booting... on most boards this also defaults the bios settings...
