i have a ASUS A7V nad a IMb deskstar 307030 ata100 harddrive.
im aware of the problem with the promise controller as i used quasi-mini-howto (http://www.geocities.com/ender7007/index.html) to ge me through it.
but my harddrive keeps on haulting the system when its getting detected during the installation process.
i read an article saying the harddrive states that it can read write and access faster than its ment to but i never found out how to get around this problem.
can someone please help me.
