I've installed redhat 6.2 on a compaq proliant 5500 (PIII 550 xeon, single processor). Speed test software running via 20 telnet sessions have proven to be significantly faster than expected, but seem to have a latency problem for new telnet sessions. Things appear to be slow, slow, slow ... Does anyone know if this is directly related to the speed of the processor or disc controller? I've checked the process priority levels which all seem fine.
Any help would really be appreciated.
