Hauppauge TV-Tuner & Linux Mandrake 8.0

Anybody know why my Hauppauge win tvtuner keeps locking up on Mandrake 8.0? I just installed Mandrake and I try running the channel scanning and it goes through that ok, but then the whole system locks right afterward. Perhaps my video resolution has something to do with it?

what vid card are you using? I just traded an ATI Rage Fury Maxx because I could not use the TV-Wonder(same chipset as yours) with it

Hi,

I have an ATI Rage 128 and an ASUS motherboard. The funny thing is that this setup works with windows, but not with linux??? I have two harddrives with windows on one and linux on the other, but I have to boot to windows to use my tv card.

not all that funny, lots of things work under windows and not linux. like winmodems and win-tv tuners. mandrake 8 shipped with xfree 4.0.3, you may want to upgrade to 4.1. to get the latest/greatest drivers.
