Question

hello, everyone.i have installed redhat 6.1 on my pc.
at first,i configured my network with the order of netconf. what i selected for the module kernel is rtl8139, in fact my card is rtl8029.
if i keep the pc running after doing that, everything is ok. however, once i reboot my pc,the network is shut. then, i use the order: ifconf eth0 up(there is only one netcard on my pc). the hint is :unknown interface. so, i have to use the order netconf and everything is ok again.
once i reboot my system, i have to configue my netcard.how boring it is!
what should i do?
thx in advance.

net card

Try using 'netconfig' to resetup your network. If that doesnt work, you can always, put the commands that you have to type on every boot at the end of /etc/rc.d/rc.local and see if that works.

hello, KevinJ ,thx very much.
the netcard is very stable now.
i found a different fact after using netconf to config.the eth0 is up, but i can't see the ip,netmask. then i follow your advice to try netconfig. everything is ok when i reboot my system.
