Question

I am completely new to Linux and am trying to install Mandrake Linux 7.2 on a Toshiba Tecra 8100 already running Windows 2000. After partitioning and installing successfully I logged in as root and tried "startx". I have installed XFree86. The error message I am getting from running startx is "No screens found".
Could you please give me a solution for this.

--Thanks

You should try to reconfigure X, try this at the command line, xf86config and this should take you through setting up X. What type of video and monitor do you have, also if this is on a laptop which I am sure of by the model name, you might want to see if your monitor type and video are actually supported, goto http://www.xfree86.org to find out!
