Hi Folks,
I've been trying to use Netscape 6 on RH7.1 with abysmal luck.
The programme install's fine (or at least appears to) but when I go to run it I get the following in the terminal window ...
mypromt$ at NS6 directory# ./netscape
results in...
./run-mozilla.sh ./mozila-bin
MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME=.
LD_LIBARY_PATH=./COOL:.:/USR/LIB
LIBPATH=.:./Cool
SHLIB_PATH=.:./Cool
XPCS_HOME=./Cool
MOZ_PROGRAM=./mozilla-bin
MOZ_TOOLKIT=
MOZ_DEBUG=0
moz_debugger=
Then it hangs in the terminal window. TOP does not show any netscape process's running either. I've also tried clicking on the executable in KDE but same problem.
I have tried EVERY install combination (Downloading first, downloading from installer, custom install, compact install and recommended install) and have tried installing both NS6 and NS6.0.1 with the same result.
I have ns 4.76 at present and it works just fine. Since it was an RPM on the distro I uninstalled it and tried 6, put it back and then retried 6 all with the same result.
Any ideas or should I stick with Mozilla?
Best wishes to all,
Mike
PS the same tarball and RPM worked great in rh7.0
