debian security


is debian more or less secure than others linux?

as far as i know, it has security in mind, but all are vulnerable, and nothing is totally secure.
its always you and a particular setup and how its maintained is when you have good security.

I would say debian is more likely to have better security, as they don't try to rush out new Kernals as fast as Redhat and others..

This causes more bugs, due to the limited testing time frame before the product is launched.

But as trickykid mentioned it's up to you how secure you make it.
