Red Hat ppp Dialer (rp3)

I have 6.2 and gnome

Sometimes the connection to the internet breaks and I connot reconnect because this dialer thinks I am already connected. When I put my mouse on it, it says "disconnect from pdq?" when I'm already disconnected. If I click on it, it says "failed to deactivate connection". so I have to reboot to get it cleared up. I right clicked on the device but didn't see anything appropriate in the configure pop up.

thanks

You should be able to configure it to disconnect on known errors. And also reconnect automatically if it dies.

The configuration is accessed by running netcfg in a terminal and on the interfaces tab you will see the ppp interface, and you can edit it there for all the options.

You may want to try hardware flow control.

Try different line speeds.

flow control is one of the options you will find in netcfg. It just lets the hardware handle the data flow instead of the software.
