instaling linux


i would like to now what´s the best linux (red hat, linux mandrake, open linux, turbo linux...) for a home pc and how to install linux on a new pc ,that never had worked i used a dfi board "ak74-ec" and a amd thunderbird 900Mhz.

Have a look at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...&threadid=3480 for some people views on two distros (they all have pros and cons) and search the form for similar threads (there are lots!) then read http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Instal...WTO/index.html for details about installation.
