Hello to all out in linux land

We have installed RH 7.0(v2.2.16-22) on a P100 (that is not connected to the internet as yet), because we cannot see our NIC to be able to connect to the network..
I think the problem is in the installion of the kernel module for a D-Link DFE-530TX
The D-Link site says to use a via-rhine or a tulip kernel module.
Have tried both of these in linuxconf/client tasks/basic host info/kernel module, but to no avail.
when i typed in ifconfig eth0 at the command line, it came back with the error message; eth0: error fetching interface information: Device not found.
Any body have any ideas as to a fix

TIA
Gary

have you tried, as root, "insmod tulip".. then "netconfig"?
