Unhappy

Well guys, I finally got linux to recognize my Netgear FA311, but now I have to modprobe and run netconfig every 3 or 4 min in order to use the internet. I am using a cable modem and the cable company says that the lease on the ip expires every 2 hrs, but why do i have to grab another ip every few min? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Mike
