This message scrolls by pretty fast during the boot, but it has a big red "failure" printed next to it. It goes something like this: "Unable to implement NFS Lockd".
I get a similar message on shutdown: "lockdsvc, invalid argument".

It's regarding NFS. Could be that you don't have kernel based NFS support and are trying to start nfsserver or an NFS mount. If you're not using NFS (Network File System) it's the least of your worries right now.
NFS allows you to 'mount' a filesystem that has been explicitly exported by another server or become a server that exports a filesystem.
