I want to install Linux mandrake 6.0, but I do not know how to install Linux over my current operating system which is Windows 98. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with this problem. Thank you
You want to install over Windows? Not install along side it?
If this is the case you should be able to simply erase your partitions either under DOS using fdisk or during the Mandrake install (dunno exactly where - never installed Mandrake!). You might want to get your hands on a newer version of Mandrake it should be easier to install and support more hardware. Mandrake 8 seems quite popular with the newbies on this forum.
You should be able to start the install and either if you choose a setup for Mandrake to automatically setup your partitions or do a customizable install, you should easily be able to install over Win98 and wipe it clean.
