Thumbs down siocsifaddr: no such device

Hi

I think I fu.... up my last thread, so here it goes again.

I installed partimage-static-i386-0.5.7.1.tar.bz2 [client+server i386 binaries] on two Red Hat 6.4 boxes, one client and one server. When i try to boot up the client with the boot and root disks everything works great, but when I try to run "ifconfig eth0 IP" I get some errors. With the bootdisk with kernel 2.2.16 (i386) I get "kmod: failure to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k eth0, errno = 2 SIOCSIFADDR: no such device" and when I use the bootdisk with kernel 2.4.6-1 (i386) or 2.4.5-1 I just get the "SIOCSIFADDR: no such device" error. Does anybody know what this is?, and if so how do I fix it? I have tried everywhere and I can't find a solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Roy
