Hello,

I am trying to install Mandrake 7.2 all is fine apart from the display which is distorted.

I have used SuSE 7.0 which allows you to change the Vertical and horizontal frequency but I cant seen to find that option in Mandrake.

Can anybody tell me how I can do this or what the problem with the display is?

Many thanks

PJ

Are you talking about within X, like a config utility tool? If so, you can try Drakconf, I think, its been a long time since I used Mandrake, either that or you can edit the resolution with the xf86config. Hope this helps in any way.

Mandrake 7.2 video problems

I had the same problem with my installation. What I think the problem is: Your monitor may not be on their list, so the installation has chosen it for you. What I did was to select the generic monitor with the specs closest to my own and experiment until the distortion went away.

It's funny because the second time I installed Mandrake 7.2 it was OK without any problem. Not sure why.

Keep trying. Now that mine's up and running well, it's a lot snappier than Windoze.
