Question looking for a web counter

I am looking for a good counter for my web page. I am currently trying to get WWWCount2.5 working, but am having authorization problems with it and the author seems to have changed his email address so I can't talk to him. I don't have a lot of time to dig into the code and just need something I can install and run.

Thanks,

Mike Lockhart

Well a counter is going to require some type of cgi capability. You didn't say what your installation supports. Do you have mysql available, php, perl, cgi-bin? Without knowing what your webserver supports, how can anyone provide you with an answer?

My configuration

I run SusE 7.1 with apache. That runs php3 (natively) and has a cgi-bin directory where I could run perl or tcl or whatever. I have Great Bridge PostgreSQL running and I guess I could install MySql if I needed to.

Thanks,

Mike

Ok, you have plenty of options then. My advice would be to use a php based counter. There are numerous ones available, for example check out this list:

http://www.hotscripts.com/search/?qu...r&category=PHP

From that list, i found this very simple package that doesn't require any database access:
