Question


I just installed linux, and i have a cd-rom on ide0 and a Mitsumi cd-r installe on the other ide but i donīt know how to install it. Linux installed by default my cdrom, but not mi cd-r.

Could someone tell how to install it?

Iīd really appreciate your help.

Depending on your distro,you might have to recompile your kernel.What distro are you using?

Ssadams is asking you which distrbution of Linux are you runing. A couple of the most popular is Red Hat and Slackware.

If you run, "uname -a" this will give the useful information that Ssadams is asking you for.

OK... Iīm using winlinux. Is an altered version of slackware and iīm using KDE.

The distro (short for distribution) is what linux you are running. A few examples would be Red Hat, Slackware and Debian. To use the CD-R you need to install a program that supports your CD-R. Here are a few links:
