I am running RedHat 6.2 on 2.2.18 kernel
I wanted to compile NFS server and client support as modules and so I did.
Unfortunately each time I rund depmod -a I get such messages:

unresolved symbols in lockd.o
unresolved symbols in nfs.o
same thing concerns nfsd.o

when I run modprobe nfs I get

unknown function (call/something else - can't remember) i lockd.o
do_lockdctl
what's going on ?
Someone told me that I need to have /lib/modules/blah/misc/sunrpc.o, but I already have that and it doesn't fix the problem.

Does NFS need anything special to be compiled in the kernel ( I'm not that lame to leave TCP/IP out

Can anyone help me on that?

Thanks
